- דָּכָאPi. דִּכֵּא (b. h.; v. preced.) to crush, humble. Midr. Till. to Ps. 93:3 (play on דכים ib.) אני מְדַכְּאָןוכ׳ I will crush them (the Philistines) by means of severe afflictions. Ib. וִידַּכְּאוּ ישראלוכ׳ and crush Israel by means of persecutions; a. e.Part. pass, מְדוּכָּא, pl. מְדוּכָּאִין. Keth.8b.
